School!!! Adam's Canyon and Girl's date

I need to take some pictures of Joe, somehow I did not get first day pics of him. Mary doesn't get to start until the 3rd but the other 4 started this week. It was a great week!

Sunday evening shenanigans with Maycee! Fun having her close by.

Mary is awesome, she did Sarah, Marjorie and Frannie's nails for school.

Fran has Shannon Hawks for 2nd grade.

Heber has Mr. Porter for 4th grade.

Marjorie has Shelly Drake for 6th but she rotates so she has Alicia Coates and Mrs. Nelson who both love the Penlands and my mom, that has made it fun for Marjorie.

The principal Mr. Fluckiger is awesome!

We cut Mary's hair. I had 3 in cut off mine too by my high school friend Adria (Slater). Fun to see her.

Joe finished the basement. The carpet is coming tomorrow and we will move the girls down. YAY!

Because Mary is home, I volunteered her to watch Mattie's 3 that aren't in school so we could go hiking.

Adam's canyon did not disappoint, it was so beautiful. We had a great time!

I don't believe all six of us have ever done anything with all of us, intentionally, ever. So hopefully this was a first of many. We got to see the show "Fighter" in the Capitol Theatre in Salt Lake. It was music and aerial dancing on hoops, ropes, silks and chains. It was AWESOME! Marjorie and Frannie especially loved it. Fran really loved the music maybe even more than the dance/silks tricks. It was very well done and had a great message. We enjoyed our time together. Loved having Lucy here for the weekend before she starts school soon.

Sarah had tryouts for the school softball team this week and she made the team! She has practice every day now. Joe loves all of his new students. He will teach 8th period at the High School, so that is only every other day. The rest of his classes are at Mountain View Jr High with the 9th graders. He loves that they come to class. Mary got her schedule fixed. Joe gets to have Brady (nephew) in his class at West Field and Mary and Luke should be in the same seminary class. Yay. Our cousin Emrie Cottle reached out to Mary (thanks to my mom) and took her to the football game and to hang out after. Mary had a great time.

Lucy is Endowed!

UGH, it is backwards again! Why blogger, why!?

After dinner they were messing around in the gym with a blitz ball I brought (instead of a gentler whiffle ball that I meant to buy) and Liv nailed Lucy in the eye from 10 feet away. Whoops.

Joe, Mary and my Mom did all the food, Shan brought some chips. Mary, Sarah and my Dad had it all set up for us after the Temple.

Quite a few friends came from Spanish Fork and we didn't want to try to go to a restaurant. This was fun to be able to visit and not spend a fortune.

Liv and Kam came and did baptisms while Lucy was doing a session. Liv is going in 2 weeks. Yay!

Bishop Smith from Spanish Fork, he is awesome. Wife below Karen, awesome too.

Cindi, YW leader for a long time and they have a special relationship.

Dan, Kendra, and Olivia Carrol, Matt and Cindi Field, Mom, Grandma Great, Shan and Andrew, BRIGHAM (he flew in for the weekend!), Joe, Spencer, Bishop Joel and Karen Smith, the Orton's (Kam and her parents). Cathy Bennett, Jordan Brown, Jenny Fowler all wanted to be there and couldn't. The Moore's would have loved to be there too I am sure. Thankful for all the love and support from family and friends. It was a beautiful experience. I loved being an escort, never done that before. I love the Temple and the covenants we make there. The power God grants us is real and we have access to it.

Manila! Happy 24th Anniversary to us!

We rented another Airbnb in Manila since we can't find all of our camping gear and only had a couple of days. It was a fun short getaway. We shot our 22's and bb guns and drove around. It rained some but we had a safe nice house so it was just fine! We watched Fall Guy all together, we missed Brigham.

Spencer and Lucy were able to come up for the first night and drove to Spirit Lake with us on Wednesday. Monday was our actual anniversary and we just got ready for our trip. 24 years of amazing blessings, lots of learning and growing and so much love. We are so blessed to have the gospel of Jesus Christ in our lives that blesses our marriage and family every day.

This shooting range is right on the way after Mountain View. It worked out really well. We had fun shooting! We stopped there on the way home too.

The lots are long and skinny. The house on the outside looked a little interesting but it was really nice on the inside.

Cute little cemetary close by.

Spirit Lake!

We decided to turn around here on our hike. It was a good thing because it started hailing not too much later.

We also shot the bb gun on the road we stayed on.

My parents were going to meet us up there on Wednesday but the weather didn't cooperate so they sent hot dogs and smores with us. They were yummy!

We had to get home by 3 on Thursday so Joe and Sarah could go to the open house for the Jr High. It is a nice building and we had fun finding her classes. Joe had fun meeting a lot of his new students. Poor Mary doesn't get to start until the 3rd because her school isn't finished yet.

It was nice getting away and spending time in the nice outdoors and cooler weather. We are ready for school to start. The basement is almost finished, just waiting on the carpet to be installed now.
