Sectionals and Cow Appreciation Day

Sectionals for all of Northwestern Texas was held in Prosper, TX this year.  There is a reason the town name is Prosper. WOWSERS! Anyway, we had a great time. We made it through 3 games, W, Th, F nights. Prosper is an hour away. We got a babysitter on Wednesday so Spencer and Lucy could go to their church stuff. But the rest of us made it the next two games.

Brigham is a great asset to his team--not only the way he plays but his attitude and character. It is really a blessing to be his mother and Joe feels the same about being his dad. We had so many people tell us so many nice things last night. It was a great and humbling experience. This is a great group of boys!

 Fun playgrounds!

He got several great hits and scored several times.

Brigham played 2nd base and outfield mostly but he did get to pitch to one batter and he struck him out. He was pulled in at the end of the inning and got the last out.

Yesterday was free slurpees at 7-Eleven--since it was 7/11/14. It was also Cow Appreciation day at Chick-Fil-a.  If you dress head to toe like a cow you get a free meal. If you wear a cow accessory you get a free entrĂ©e.  The kids had a great time dressing up and it was fun getting a $30 meal for free. Brigham wasn't ready yet and then I forgot to take another picture. Sorry Brig! We left Marjorie and Joe home.

Happy Birthday America!!!

Our 4th started out with an early breakfast and parade at the park with our ward. We have a combined meeting tomorrow and they are making another ward out of our 2 Wylie wards we assume. So it was nice to have an activity with everyone. I have been waiting for this as a "leader" for a long time but now that it is actually going to happen I am really sad. We love all of our ward and it will be weird to be split.

Our good friends Sarah Rigby in pink and Lance Whitworth on Bro. Tuttle's huge bike.

 The missionaries led the parade.

Riley Cook (one of Brigham's best friends) and Brig.

There is something wrong with my lense and it won't auto focus. BOO!

More friends, Holly Roper the current Primary President and some of her kids, Sarah coming up in the rear.

Ryan and John Rigby--more great friends.

Angela and Hope LaMarche in the back ground to the left.

The girls watching fireworks after swimming. Marjorie wasn't sure she loved the loud sounds or the flash!
Oh we went to huge party at Neal and Torrie Denny's. Lots of swimming and going down the slide and food and fireworks! It was really fun and kind of crazy so I didn't take a lot of pics.

District Champions

Brigham's Championship game was Wednesday night. They played awesome and won 13 to 3.

Brigham only got up to bat once because he was a DH hitter that night and the other team complained about it so he was a great sport and cheered loudly from the bench. He has played 2nd base the whole time up until this point so it was nice that another boy got a chance. But his one time at bat he got up and dropped one right over the 1st baseman's head. He scored 2 runs and got to third--and the ump called him out. You can see Spencer behind on the left and from our view he clearly slid under the tag but it is nice to have proof! Thanks Melissa! He was a good sport and it ended up not being a big deal.

Now onto Sectionals, they start this Wednesday in Prosper. We play the Abilene district champions.
