Happy Memorial Day weekend!
Spencer had Field day on Friday. I went up for a few minutes. He wasn't TOO excited to see me, so I didn't stay long. He had a good day though!
Mary's hair for the luau. Our ward has had a big luau the last 3 years. This year it was at the Heath Stake Center. It was really fun! We all had a good time.
This is Mamo Hembree--Mary's Sunbeam teacher now--she is absolutely fantastic! Love her and her family!
Sarah kept me plenty busy the whole night. She is a crack-up, everyone loves her.
Lucy having fun with the poi balls--I think that is what they are called.
This is part of Brigham's bear den--they performed the Haka with Bro. Joe Merrick's help. So cute. I got it on video.
Today Spencer and I ran a 5k while pushing the girls and Lucy on her bike. I had a mtg for an upcoming activity that I am in charge of, today was the only day we could meet with this crazy week. We took dinner to a nice family in our neighborhood who is fighting cancer. The mom--of 4 kids about my kids ages--a little older, her youngest is 7. Anyway they are great, I hope she beats it again.
I am very thankful for all those who have gone before me, my Grandpa Painter, Granny, Aunt Judy, and more. I am thankful for all the men and women who have fought for our freedom, those who have died, those who live and face horrors everyday because of their time in our service, those still fighting, those willing to go. We live in a good place.

Congrats Spencer!
Congrats Spencer! He got the Language Arts Award from his teacher! Way to go Spencer! He picked In and Out for his celebration dinner. It was yummy and only 20 bucks for all 7 of us.
What a difference a week makes. One knot already came undone and disappeared through the night last night? The top knot will get removed on Thursday. But it is looking so much better! Yay!

Update on Lucy
Thank you Gma and Gpa for the get well night gowns! She loves them and wanted me to send you this.
It has been a crazy couple of weeks. Being released as Primary President 2 weeks ago sent me into a weird place mentally/emotionally. Then my anticipation sky-rocketed. Got a call on Thursday afternoon asking Joe and I to meet with the Stake President yesterday morning. I was called as the Stake Primary President. My counselors are Kaki Beaudin and Barbara Kershaw. The secretary is Laurie Whitworth. I barely know any of them, so it will be a great opportunity. I am excited, it should be fun! Today they took 5 units from our Stake and made a new Stake with a couple of other wards from other Stakes. We only have 10 now. So it is much more manageable! Yay! Brigham got his first hit the other night--good job Brigham!

Field Day
Last night. Pretty swollen. Below, this morning--more swollen.
She didn't really seem to mind.
Brigham had fun too! He fell on the hurdles and got a nice raspberry on a knee. So talking to Spencer last night, I found out she was not just jumping on the trampoline, she was running and sliding head first and didn't go down until mid-trampoline. Hence the faceplant into the bar. When I talked to her about it this morning she said maybe I should go feet first so I just slide off and land on the grass. It is softer than the bar. Yep--it is. I am tired, I volunteered all day.

Poor Lucy
These last 3 were taken this morning. I am going to get her cleaned up a bit. I have more pics to post as soon as Myrna figures out how to send them to me. Yesterday around 4 p.m. Lucy decided to join Spencer on the trampoline with the hose. She didn't know he was going to spray her and slipped as she landed and went face first into the bar. I threw her in the car with a towel and ice and headed somewhere. I didn't know where to go but soon headed to Children's Medical Center after a quick stop at the nearest ER. They took one glimpse and said get her to a plastic surgeon. She was in a lot of pain at this point and crying. I gave her a little bit of infant tylenol while I was driving frantically and she thankfully fell asleep on the 20 min. drive. After that she didn't cry once and they didn't even put the numbing gel on it for hours--like 7:30. They had me stand on one side and hold her hands. They put a white paper over her face with a hole for the wound and stitched it up. It was crazy. I have always wanted to be a surgical nurse--BUT I had to sit down in the middle of it in order to not pass out. Thankfully 2 dear friends--Myrna Whitworth and Christina Rigby were there and Myrna came and stood in for me while Christina took care of me. The sweet surgeon told me it was only because it was my own. That made me feel a little better. I have more pictures that Myrna took once she figures out how to send them to me. Joe was there with us and gave her blessing but had to leave to teach his class. So thankful for inspired friends who could fill in for family since we are so far away. They brought Lucy a present and painted her nails while the medicine was wearing off. Meanwhile so many were here helping with the other kids. Amber and Jason fed them and took the girls for a while. Several others came and helped and then Linda Madsen came and got them in bed. Hopefully it heals well. So thankful.

Happy Mother's Day!
I had a wonderful Mother's Day. I will have to come back and add their cards after I scan them in. Pretty cute stuff. So glad we got a decent picture! I am so grateful to be a mother. I am so thankful for my mother and all that she is. I am very blessed!!!
Dance recital/BBQ
Last week Lucy and Mary had their tap/ballet recital. Mary's first one! They did great. Last Friday night we had all of Joe's Medical Institute Student's and their families over for a BBQ. We had a great time and the food was the BEST yet! So yummy.
