Spencer and princess party

Mary actually braved hugging "Cinderella" at a Princess party we went to on Saturday night.  The Whitfields hosted a great party.  Lucy, Mary, Sarah and I had a wonderful time!

Showing her the paint on her nails.

Spencer got his First Class rank in Scouts last night and 2 merit badges already! GREAT JOB Spencer!!!  He did so well on his talk too, and passing the Sacrament.

Spencer's first Sacrament mtg talk

Yesterday Spencer gave his first talk in Sacrament meeting.  He did a really great job and so many commented on how "cute" he is.  It was quite funny.

Hello, for those of you who do not know me my name is Spencer Evans.
I will be speaking about how I read and study the scriptures and how it helps me fulfill part of my Duty to God requirements.

In the Duty to God book it gives me a list of scriptures to study looking for direction on how to study and blessings that it brings.  Some things I learned that are instructions are:
  • To think and pray about what I am reading.
  • To do or act on what I learn
  • To hearken to the word
  • To Hold Fast to his words
  • To Feast upon the word or in other words (get something from your daily study and apply it or make changes prompted to)
  • To Search Diligently, with prayer and fasting
  • To Heed the words or in other words do what the words say

Blessings promised are:
  • You are prosperous, to be blessed in every way possible
  • You will have Great success
  • You will Never perish
  • You are protected from the temptations and fiery darts of the adversary
  • You are protected from blindness and destruction
  • You will know all things we are suppose to do
  • You will be strong in understanding
  • You will have the Spirit of prophecy, revelation, and teach with the power of God
  • The Gates of hell will not prevail against us
  • Heavenly father will Get rid of the power of darkness
  • Heavenly father will Cause the heavens to shake for our good

I study the scriptures every day by reading at least a chapter-a-day. This doesn’t sound like much but because of doing this for the past 2 years I have read the entire Book of Mormon including the intro. 4 times. I have thought about personal experiences that had to do with reading the scriptures and this one came to mind. I was having trouble reading my scriptures my mom insisted that I pray about reading my scriptures, so I did and I wasn’t sure if I had received an
answer, but I decided to read my scriptures anyway and I felt really good about it.

Reading your scriptures can improve your testimony a lot in many ways and can help you in even your daily chores.

I know this church is true and that Jesus Christ is the son of our heavenly Father, I know that Joseph Smith is a true prophet and restored the true church, I know that  Thomas s. Monson is the true current prophet, I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

Spencer's First Temple trip

We got to do work for our OWN family!!! 9 men and 9 women.  It was so Great! It was the first time that I have been able to take my own names. Spencer was so cute, and really enjoyed it.  We went for lunch after, to the Cheesecake Factory. It was Delicious!!!  Ellyse Baty took great care of the rest of the crew while we were gone.  They did all sorts of fun things.

Happy 13th Anniversary!

Yesterday was Joe and I's Anniversary.  We made it to lunch with this little one. :)  We were all tired so that was the extent of our celebration. However we did have a fun FHE and we went to Cici's Pizza on Saturday night with the family to celebrate being a family.  The kids had tokens left from when Gma and Gpa were here, plus Lucy snuck $5 from her bank.  They had a good time!

Today at the pool Mary didn't jump far enough into the pool and hit her chin on the way down. Thanks to Dr. Johnson, and Joe's friendship with him, she got stitched up great!  She was so brave and didn't ever cry through the whole ordeal.

Marjorie's bathtime yesterday, she was so cute I thought I better take some pictures.

This is her preparing for Sarah, she had just stepped in.  Ha!

We are so thankful for the wonderful 13 years it has been! We are so BLESSED!!!

Happy 12th Birthday SPencer!~

Opening money from Gma and Gpa for his bank account, they also gave him a nice suit you will see below, some books, and cute ties and a tie tack.

Happy 12th Birthday to our Spencer!!! Holy Cow, he is in Young Men's now and he was ordained a Deacon today.  He will be passing the Sacrament next week.  Wow!

The lego car kit his siblings gave him, with his precise directions. :)

The glove he will use the rest of his life, from us.

Didn't take very good pictures of his party but this is Scott Roper, Spencer, Andrew Barlow, Lucy, Jaron Harbison.

Brigham, Tina Chinguya, Tanner and Taylor Probst, Sarah and Mary. Jake Tuckett came after.

Joe made them a yummy smoked dinner, brisket, pork, sausage, cream corn, chips, cake and ice cream. I made the cake, that was it.

Not sure what happened to his face.  Ugh.  But I put this in to see his whole suit. :)

Kids with Linda Madsen, going into the new Building with the sun blaring at them.

The whole ward met out front after for a picture.  So exciting!  Joe ordained Spencer during his class today, Brigham and I got to go in. It was really nice to be there and so thankful for a wonderful son and husband!

The girls beating up on Joe.

I did get one picture in today, even though I almost didn't put it in because I desperately need a hair cut or reshaping.

Only 2 weeks until school starts, it is coming oh so fast this year. I am liking not being in a rush every morning. It will be nice to get back to the routine but I am enjoying these last two weeks!!!
