Hike to Fish Lake with Spencer

Driving out we had to wait for this antelope and his herem. They were right in the road.

Packing up to go home. We had such a great time! Joe and the girls had most of the stuff packed up when Spencer and I got back around 12:30 because it looked like rain. Thankfully we got out pretty quick because it rained on us all the way home.

Spencer and I saw this calf and momma right at the end of our hike back from Fish Lake.

We saw this doe coming back also, near Tamarack.

Tons of wildflowers here too, so pretty!

Fish Lake!

This rock was in the tree's roots. No wonder it fell over.

They thankfully put up a new sign!

This crazy patch of wild flowers all together.

Tamarack lake.

We also saw this really light in color elk...we think. It was in a hurry from a long ways away to get into the trees. It ran like an elk and held its head like an elk but was so light tan. Very strange. We were sad we didn't have binoculars. We had an awesome time camping and hiking. Spencer and I had a great walk and talk. So glad we were able to go, none of us wanted to leave other than Joe and I wanting our real bed. We really enjoyed it! Missed Brigham but so glad he is serving in Africa.

Happy 22nd Anniversary from Spirit Lake and Long Lake

Grateful to Joe and all he does for our family. Thankful for this awesome journey we are on together and for the people God has entrusted to us.

He had just put something in his mouth.

This is over at Long Lake, while we were there we got sprinkled on but our camp got dumped on, so thankfully we missed that.

This was the only fish caught at Long lake.

This is right by our camp.

Everyone caught a fish except Mary. Heber lost his on shore.

The tree caught his pole. Haha.

These 2 are so grown up and hilarious. Spencer and Heber slept in a tent. Lucy, Mary and Sarah slept in another tent. Marjorie and Frannie were the only ones in the trailer with Joe and I. I didn't sleep any better without a baby.  haha. Turns out it wasn't the baby keeping me up at night. Oh well. We slept okay and it was way warmer at night than usual. I got hot both nights.

We did really simple food and it was so easy. Hot dogs/chips and smores the first night. Cheeseburgers/watermelon and peach cobbler the second night. Joe made great breakfasts too.

Day 1 Spirit Lake!

We got one of our very favorite spots we have camped with my family, it is the same place Haylee fell and broke her ankle. It is beautiful and stream nearby sounds so wonderful!

We hung tarps around our bathroom. It worked out great!

This is how they rode on the dirt road part.

We left on Thursday morning, Aug. 11th. We blew a tire on the trailer right after exiting the freeway at Fort Bridger. Thankfully it blew after the freeway not on it. Thankfully it blew on the passenger side because that is where we could pull over. Thankfully the tire shop 5 minutes down the road had a replacement for us because we couldn't get the spare off. Thankfully the rain held off until we were on the road again. And we still got to camp in time to set up, roast hot dogs, and fish!
