Happy Thanksgiving!

Started out Thanksgiving morning running the Dallas Turkey Trot, an 8 miler around downtown Dallas. It was great, perfect weather. Brigham's ear drum was about to burst in this pic, the poor thing.

Making the best of Thanksgiving break!

Awesome park we went to yesterday, we had a great time "camping".

We had a wonderful holiday and are going to spend the next couple of days putting up Christmas stuff, S is soooo excited. He is hilarious. Poor B, his ear drum burst today after my race on our way to Amber's for Thanksgiving dinner. Last night he had an awful night and now I know why. I am so glad something happened though because we couldn't find any doc.'s open. The tylenol/motrin combo wasn't doing anything after an hour. Anyway we ended up having a great day. We have had fun playing this week too, even though we have all had colds.

UIL competition

S was recognized today at Dinobeat for competing in the Storytelling portion of district contest.

Proudly wearing his participation ribbon. This was before the ceremony we attended where he found out he did not win anything and the tears flooded his face. But by today he was proudly wearing it so hopefully he is still glad he did it. It is hard to watch your kids learn all the lessons they need to but good in the end when they are better for it.

We actually had to pull out the jackets. Our air conditioner hasn't turned on for a couple of days. Yeah! I am loving the gas prices! 1.78 YIPEE! I am so thankful for so many things: my awesome husband, each of my beautiful and wonderful children, my loving and kind parents, my fantastic sisters and their families, all of my grandparents, my beautiful home, family and friends, health, my testimony, the Book of Mormon and all the scriptures, and most of all my Savior Jesus Christ and His Mercy and love and patience that He continually shows me.

Is it September?

This weather is amazing except I cannot keep track of the time of the year very well. It does not feel like Thanksgiving is next week, I am not complaining though it is awesome! I have been enjoying the conference issue of the Ensign so much! I particularly loved this by Elder Jefferey R. Holland: "I ask everyone within the sound of my voice to take heart, be filled with faith, and remember the Lord has said He “would fight [our] battles, [our] children’s battles, and [the battles of our] children’s children.”10 And what do we do to merit such a defense? We are to “search diligently, pray always, and be believing[. Then] all things shall work together for [our] good, if [we] walk uprightly and remember the covenant wherewith [we] have covenanted.”11 The latter days are not a time to fear and tremble. They are a time to be believing and remember our covenants." Love it! Joe got to participate in the rededication of the Mexico City Temple last night. It was a wonderful experience for him. We are so blessed.

Primary Program

Here is the Famous chicken hat that helped us get ready for our Primary program. The kids loved it and wanted to wear it. They did a super job today and it was fun to be their leader. The song "If the Savior Stood Beside Me" is awesome and they sang it so well. It does help you make better choices. :) I am so grateful for the gospel and for the knowledge we have about our genders, identity, purpose, the plan of happiness, and so much more. I am so richly blessed! I had a Scentsy party on Friday night, it turned out way fun and was a great way to have new friends into my home. I have also started a Biggest Loser group in my ward and so everyone has to come to my house every Saturday to weigh in. Joe is doing so great and he is a great support and help to me. He has already lost almost 20 lbs. since we moved here. Oh and we finally have a freezer--yeah! Ours got broke in the move and it took the company forever to decide they weren't going to fix it, we finally got the money for it this week. I forgot how nice a freezer is!

Halloween Fun!

The kids had a great time trick or treating and with their class parties. It was so warm the girls were roastin'! Lucy has worn a dress everyday for a month and then decides to be a giraffe--funny girl. Brigham has been so sweet lately in his prayers, being thankful that I am his music leader in Primary and that I am nice. So fun to hear them pray. They got tons of candy--I used a lot of it for their 72 hr kits, everyone says hard candy is a good thing to have in one. It definitely won't hurt. I don't know if I got one pic with all 4 looking at me, but if I could make a combo I could get a cute one!
