Wylie District Art Show
Celebrating the Arts is a District art show, Brigham took 3rd place in all of 5th grade in the district.
Spencer had 3 pieces on display. (The art teachers choose what goes into the show.)
This was a print he made with ink on a piece of rubber that he carved and then transferred 4 times. It took 3rd place too!
Great job boys! Mary took our picture.
We have a new art teacher at the Elementary this year and she is not the same as our last one--she is really nice though! I was pretty disappointed with the lack of entries from our school. Several girls (mine and some of my students) were really sad none of their artwork was in there. I really wish I would have given some of it to the art teacher. Bummer. But lots of my students work was featured, and all of them won something. So that is cool.
Boys Baseball started yesterday. Brigham hit his first HOME RUN! Go Brig! His team won, 11-1. Spencer's team barely lost, by one. He played well too. It was so cold!!! Mary played great in her soccer game yesterday too.

Field trip with Mary.
The weather has been hard on the flowers but it was still beautiful. The Arboretum is a great place!!! I had fun with Mary girl.
Lucy's Baptism
Grandma Great sent Lucy this towel for her baptism.
Grandpa and Grandpa gave her a scripture case.
And journal.
Grannie (Evans) gave her a beautiful set of scriptures.
These four practicing their song before the baptism.
Ryley and Amber Severson--great friends and neighbors came to support Lu!
Girls with great friend Linda Madsen.
Lucy with our Awesome Home teacher Dave Tanner and his daughter Autumn.
Gma and Gpa laughing at Marjorie.
Lucy and her BFF Emma Gundersen.
Linda taught these girls in Primary last year.
Grandpa said the opening prayer, I led the music (and said the Closing prayer). We sang I am a Child of God and I Love to See the Temple. Holly Roper, a good friend and the Primary President played the piano. Lane Cook, a good friend and member of the bishopric officiated. Spencer gave a talk on baptism and Gma gave a talk on the Holy Ghost. Brigham, Lucy, Mary and Sarah sang "Teach Me about the Temple" a fairly new song by Janice Kapp Perry. Brigham and Lucy each sang part of solo and all of them on chorus. It was absolutely beautiful--they sang wonderful--but it was more than that. They looked like angels and the spirit touched all of our hearts. Joe did the baptism, Gpa and Bro. Tanner were the witnesses. Shane Norton, Bishop Robb Rigby, Dave Tanner, Lane Cook, Grandpa and Joe blessed her with the gift of the Holy Ghost. She was told to continue being a "light" to her family and friends. She was told to know that she is greater than she thinks she is. We enjoyed donuts after. It was a wonderful day! I didn't get pictures of all of the Gundersen's, Rigby's, Ellyse Baty, or the Nortons.
After the soccer game we went to Mary's soccer game, it was freezing cold!
