Decorating for Christmas!

We had to put the tree on a table this year. And I sorta moved some of these around later. :)

Brigham had a homework assignment to do this week. Making a doll and dressing it like one of his ancestors. We chose Scotland. Thankfully my mom loaned us a book about our McFarland ancestors that left Scotland and Ireland to come here. It came in really handy! So thankful for all they went through. Awesome.

We are excited!! Merry Christmas!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! Amber and her family joined us at our home this year. Eric's mom Frances came to. We had a wonderful time and the food was DELICIOUS!!! Joe smoked our turkey and it turned out SOOO good! Everyone pitched in and we had: mashed potatoes and gravy (Amber and Joe), sweet potatoes and cornbread stuffing (Frances--so good!), rolls (me), fruit salad with 18 different kinds of fruit! (Amber), and a relish tray (Amber). They also brought several fun games and activities. Oh and the pies were yummy too. Frances brought a buttermilk pie--we had never even heard of that--but it was delicious! I made an oreo pie and pecan. Both were a hit. Joe tried a sweet potato pie and it was good yesterday but the bomb today! Thanks Richardson's!!!

Spencer showing he won pin the gobbler on the turkey. Lucy's game she made up.

Getting ready to do their corn pop. Fun and cute thing Amber did for them. They stood in a circle and each grabbed an end of the "corn" and all pulled at once and they popped out prizes and treats for all of them.

 Gathering their loot.

Blowing up a balloon she got in hers.

The few days before the kids helped me quite a bit in the kitchen making dough that we froze for Christmas goodies and such. We have had a really enjoyable week hanging out and playing.

 New aprons! Thanks Mom!

We are so very blessed! I am so thankful for my family, the Savior, the gospel, prayer, scriptures, covenants, our home, Joe's job, our friends and neighbors, and so much more. I am grateful to live in this country and to have so much. Happy Holidays!

Grandma Great's Visit

Gma and Mom in Sam Moon's, they were in Heaven! Especially Gma!

Joe took them to Fort Worth to the Stockyards yesterday and this is at Cooper's.

Out in front of Babe's. We all got to go the first night they were here.

Gma and her "boyfriend". After she said that, Lucy said: "But Gma he isn't real." :)

Sarah always acts like she is riding a horse. She loved sitting on the sadle.

Random pic of girls who just shared a bag of mini cheese balls.

Beautiful girls even when they are all "cheesy".

We had a wonderful whirl wind of a time while Gma and Gma Great were here. They were only here 2 full days and we crammed so much in! It was very fun to have them and to show Gma Great all around. Thanks for coming!!! We love you!

Football

One of the parent's decided to rent this limo to take the boys to their banquet in. They loved it and had a good time, maybe partied too much before their "redo" playoff game?

 LOVE THIS FACE, so cute.

Coach Jeff asking Brigham his name.

Aundrea Mason and I still talking about the drama, and all the associated rumors. Oh my there are some good ones.

I am not going to attempt to write about all the "drama" that has taken place with the Wylie Football League this last week.  I will give a run down and hopefully not think about it again for a LONG time. Last Saturday was our play-off game to see who would go to the Superbowl next week. We played well, with 20 seconds left in the game we were up 6 to 0. Then they scored. We beat them in double over-time.  The boys high-fived the other team, came back and got their snack and drink as we cheered wildly. A few minutes later as we getting ready to leave the field, a man comes over (not a ref) and said there should have been a penalty at the end since we took a time-out we didn't have.  Being new coaches (and none of us thinking clearly) we sent our boys back on the field to "redo" the ending five yards back--since that was the supposed penalty for the problem.  Well we didn't score that time and then they did. SO we won and then LOST our play off game. Needless to say we were TICKED. Our boys were sobbing, no one knew what in the world just happened. (Okay maybe this is not a short version and maybe I am still a little mad.) After much protesting, meetings, emails, etc. we finally convinced the board they had made a mistake.  The only solution they could come up with is a "redo" of the whole game. So that was today before my Mom and Gma flew back home. ( That is the next post.) It was awful, our boys had just partied last night at their banquet (that was lame--except for all the stuff the parents did) and did not play their A game. But the Bears brought theirs so we lost today. Glad to be done, but not a fun ending to a good season. Our boys improved a lot. So here's to another life lesson or two. :)
