Joe made us a delicious meal of clam chowder (what we usually would have at Mom's), fried catfish, homemade fries, and scones. We have never used our fryer--so we made up for it in one night! It was yummy. Mom still sent jammies--they looked cute.
Santa came...
Lucy was excited to see that Rudolph responded to her note. :)
The kids woke up early I guess, but were very good and did not wake us or some of their other siblings up. Marjorie woke us up at 5:50. I don't know if she knew then what was going on, but she was excited. So fun!
Joe opening his chia pet from the kids. He has always wanted one--I have too--so I let Lucy get it for him. :)
Sarah got her "Elsa" doll.
Lucy got tumbling mats.
Mary got an art set.
Spencer got a 22 rifle. I don't know why I don't have a picture of the actual gun, more to come I guess. I didn't even get one of Brigham getting his backpack for hiking or what he really wanted--new shoes. That boy loves shoes. Gma and Gpa gave them shoes. So that was what he was most excited about.
Spencer playing with his homemade concoction.
Mary playing with shrinky dinks. Me playing with my new lense! Same 50 mm I have had before but I broke it, or someone did. So it got replaced. Joe got a new tool chest, no picture of it either!
Trying out her new suit and mat.
Brigham's present from Spencer. I love the sibling gifts. They drew names this year. It was fun taking them shopping. They know each other better than I do! I was smart this year and waited to take them to the store until the 22nd and 23rd. So they were all surprised and we weren't miserable waiting for the day!!!
Cute Heber in his jammies. I didn't get very good pictures. The one below doesn't even look like him--it is weird.
This was too cute to pass up. I found them watching DCTC on youtube with their Barbies like this. Funny girls. (DCTC is some channel on youtube where this lady opens a bunch of toys and plays with them--it is sometimes really annoying. On the upside, it has encouraged pretend play and I like seeing the girls doing more of that.)
Joe made a delicious smoked ham, baked mac and cheese, green bean casserole, and sweet potatoes with crusted pecans on top that were to die for! I made oreo deliciousness. So we had plenty of good food!!!
We had a relaxing day and week for the most part. Having baby Heber at this time of year has been a blessing. It has been special having him so little and thinking of our Savior. We missed seeing family but enjoyed being with our own family on this special day. We are so thankful for the gift our Father in Heaven gave of his Son. We are thankful for the Saviors gift of his life, making repentance and eternal life possible. We are so blessed.
We do have a whole week off of school ahead of us, which makes me a little nervous. It has been really cold the past couple of days and since we don't go anywhere with a newborn--I might not make it through this week. ;)
